Steve Christou - Australian Values

Australian Values

Steve is a fierce defender of traditional Australian values and the Australian spirit that built our great nation. He believes in preserving the cultural heritage and principles that make Australia unique.

As the son of migrants who embraced Australian culture, Steve understands the importance of protecting our borders and ensuring that Australian culture remains strong and undiluted. He advocates for policies that uphold our national identity while respecting those who come here to genuinely contribute to our way of life.

Steve stands firmly for Australia Day on January 26th, our flag, our anthem, and the traditional values of hard work, mateship, and individual responsibility that have made Australia the envy of the world.

He believes that while we welcome newcomers, they must respect and integrate into Australian society, not seek to change it. Our culture, our traditions, and our Australian way of life must be preserved for future generations.

From Humble Beginnings

The son of Greek Cypriot refugees, Steve's story is one of resilience and opportunity. His parents arrived in Australia in 1976 after the conflict in Cyprus, building a new life from the ground up.

Born in Erskineville and raised in Penshurst, Steve grew up in a hardworking family. His mother a seamstress, and his father a factory worker. These humble beginnings instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep respect for everyday Australians.

Steve's values were shaped early through a strong local education. Growing up, he attended local schools close to home - including St Mary's Catholic School, Penshurst Public School, Hurstville Boys High, and Peakhurst High, where he learned the importance of hard work and looking out for your community.
